MTE Corporation provides simple, robust power quality management solutions differentiated by utility, industry, application and country. Located in Wisconsin, in the heart of the Midwest, they supply product both direct and OEM worldwide. When they engaged with 43Folders, their website was far behind what would be considered current best practices, and the website as a whole was in desperate need of a “look and feel” overhaul for a refreshed, modern, and accessible site.

One hurdle in the process of re-envisioning MTE’s web presence, however, was the embedded functionality to dynamically offer up the CAD drawings that their internal, external, and partner companies relied on. This functionality was based on PHP code developed nearly 15 years prior with no documentation or comments, making planning for a site migration difficult to plan for.

To tackle this issue, in addition to our top graphic design personnel being involved, we provided experts in PHP and WordPress theme design to help keep an eye on functionality, budget, and aesthetics while managing the conversion project from end to end.  Ultimately, we wound up creating templates for pages that could be applied to existing and new content, “re-skinned” the site in place, and successfully migrated the finicky, outdated code into the new layouts without hiccough or downtime, on time and under budget.
